Certificatele obținute pot echivala proba de competențe lingvistice într-o limbă de circulație internațională proba C la examenul național de bacalaureat și admiterea la liceu intensiv-bilingv engleză.

Parts of the Exam
1.READING COMPREHENSION

Completing two different reading comprehension tasks correctly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the content of a general text at the appropriate level without using a dictionary.
2.WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
(see sample tests)
The candidate must write two compositions (consisting of the required number of words) on the basis of several bullet points. Printed dictionary may be used.
3.LISTENING COMPREHENSION

Completing two listening comprehension tasks correctly after listening to two different recordings twice, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the content of general spoken language at the appropriate level.
4.ORAL C OMMUNICATION

The ECL language exam is a paired exam. Candidates take the exam in pairs (or in the case of odd number of candidates, in threes). The speaking task is selected by one of the candidates.
Structure of the Oral Exam
1. Warm-up
– The purpose of this part to put the candidates at ease and to warm them up for the exam. This part is not assessed.
2. Guided Conversation
– The interviewer initiates a conversation connected to the topic selected and assists candidates in having a dialogue by asking them questions.
3. Individual talk
– There is a picture montage available for each topic consisting of four pictures.
– The two candidates share their views individually, one after another, on the topic represented in the montage.
– If needed the interviewer may assist candidates with questions appropriate for the exam’s level.
– The purpose of this part is to give the candidates a chance to expand their views on the pictures and topics in well-structured, logical monologues.
The interviewer and the assessor evaluate the performance of the candidates individually.
Successful exam
Candidates may apply to complex exam or a written or oral partial exam. Certificates are awarded to those candidates who are successful on a complex or partial exam.
The candidate is successful on an oral partial exam if he/she achieves at least 40% of the total score on both the listening comprehension test and the oral exam, and if the average of the two parts is a minimum of 60%. A written partial exam is successful if the candidate achieves at least 40% of the total score in both the reading comprehension and the writing test, and if the average of the two parts is a minimum on both the listening comprehension test and the oral exam, and if the average of the two parts is a minimum of 60%. A complex exam is successful if the candidate achieves a minimum of 40% in each parts of the exam (reading comprehension, written communication, listening comprehension and oral communication), and the average of the four parts of the exam is a minimum of 60%. If the candidate is only successful on the written or oral partial exam, he/she receives a certificate verifying that they have passed a partial exam.
Reporting results
The Examination Centre announces the results of the exam on its website (https://eclexam.eu/) within 30 days from the date of the written exam. Candidates are also notified via email that their results are available on their candidate’s page online. If a candidate makes a written request to the Examination Centre, he/she can also receive information about the results via mail within the time frame stipulated by the regulations.
